I liked the article as a reminder that silence can be valuable but listening doesn't always mean hearing. Many people who don’t contribute to a discussion may be indifferent, lack of energy, and simply are thinking about their own stuff.

Silence is not always a sign of intelligence, just as the ability to speak is not always a sign of thoughtlessness.

And unfortunately, the noisiest people, often narcissists, go down in history, and the silent ones remain behind the scenes. It’s true in the corporate world, silent people are less likely get promotions. What is the solution? I think you touched on an essential subject, the art of being selective in mastering the art of shutting up and only being loud when it’s necessary.
